KOMPAN US is seeking a Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.

 

This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and supports the Finance and HR teams with payroll-related reporting and reconciliation. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Payroll Specialist plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll using payroll software.
  • Reconcile payroll sub-ledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s).
  • Collaborate with HR on compensation changes, benefits deductions, and onboarding/offboarding processes.

 

What You’ll Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems (Paychecks, ADP, Paycor, Workday etc).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • An interest in working with a global organization and supporting the KOMPAN mission
