As KOMPAN continues to grow across North America, we are seeking a Controller to join our dynamic Finance team.
This is a high-impact role, reporting directly to the CFO, and is responsible for overseeing key accounting operations, including financial close processes, sales tax compliance, financial reporting and analysis, banking, balance sheet reconciliations, asset management, and ERP systems oversight.

For more than 50 years, KOMPAN has researched, designed, and built innovative and imaginative commercial playground equipment and outdoor fitness sites that captivate all ages and abilities.
In collaboration with our global headquarters in Denmark, KOMPAN designs, manufactures, and installs more than 1,000 sites a month across 90 different countries. Our North American headquarters, located in Austin, Texas, supports field sales around the U.S. and Canada.

What You’ll Do:
Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise and support the accounting team responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountant duties.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture with a focus on mentorship and professional development.
Financial Close & Accounting Operations
- Lead the monthly and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll, recurring, and non-recurring entries.
- Manage accruals and ensure accurate financial analysis.
- Oversee fixed asset management and reporting.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, accrual, and liability reconciliations.
- Prepare and reconcile commission calculations for direct sales, agencies, and cooperative contracts.
- Provide audit support and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reports and performance analysis.
- Support the CFO with ad hoc reports and analytical requests.
- Handle intercompany transactions, invoicing, and reconciliations of intercompany accounts.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision a strong plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Austin, TX.
