Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Manager of External Installation is responsible for leading KOMPAN’s team of Project Managers, who oversee the end-to-end planning, delivery, and installation of playground and fitness equipment across North America.
This role carries full accountability for project execution, team development, and strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth across installation projects, while ensuring that the region operates efficiently and profitably. Project Managers are regionally distributed throughout the United States and manage vendor relationships for the installation of KOMPAN equipment, surfacing, and other third-party products.

For more than 50 years, KOMPAN has researched, designed, and built innovative and imaginative commercial playground equipment and outdoor fitness sites that captivate all ages and abilities.
In collaboration with our global headquarters in Denmark, KOMPAN designs, manufactures, and installs more than 1,000 sites a month across 90 different countries. Our North American headquarters, located in Austin, Texas, supports field sales around the U.S. and Canada.

What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of regionally based Project Managers to ensure successful project execution and team growth.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that drive revenue growth, improve efficiency, and ensure job profitability.
- Oversee the prioritization and allocation of resources across multiple installation projects to maximize business impact, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, proper staffing, and adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Monitor and analyse project outcomes using standardized KPIs, focusing on quality assurance, financial performance, and continuous improvement.
- Develop a Project Management training program, provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for Project Managers.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among internal teams and external vendors to minimize roadblocks and maintain alignment on project goals and timelines. Act as a neutral escalation point to resolve project-related challenges.
- Actively support Project Managers in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues during installation projects.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture, encouraging accountability, transparency, and open communication.
What You’ll Need
- College degree, with 7+ years of progressive experience in project management, operations, or construction-related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing distributed teams.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across geographically dispersed regions.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with a track record of improving operational performance and driving revenue growth.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party contractors in complex, multi-site installation projects.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate and resolve project challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with project management tools and key performance indicators (KPIs) for tracking execution and success.
- Ability to travel as needed across North America to support regional project teams.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Austin, TX, with up to 70% local and domestic travel.
