KOMPAN US is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to oversee all technical aspects of playground and outdoor fitness equipment installations.
This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, costing, reviewing, and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted service across projects of varying size and complexity. The Regional Operations Manager will also lead and manage a team of project managers-providing direction, mentorship, and oversight to ensure consistent project execution, adherence to quality and safety standards, and alignment with organizational goals.

In collaboration with our global headquarters in Denmark, KOMPAN designs, manufactures, and installs more than 1,000 sites a month across 90 different countries. Our North American headquarters, located in Austin, Texas, supports field sales around the U.S. and Canada.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a regional team of Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development within the project management team.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and long-term strategic development of the regional operations organization.
Project & Technical Oversight
- Oversee all technical aspects of playground installations, ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications.
- Review product designs, proposals, and contracts to define project scope, schedule, staffing requirements, and installation methods.
- Provide technical guidance to Project Managers regarding site conditions, construction coordination, and installation best practices.
- Conduct and manage pre-start, progress, and handover meetings with customers and subcontractors.
- Deliver world-class final installations by validating build quality, completing outstanding work, and ensuring full readiness prior to handover.
Operational Planning & Execution
- Oversee regional capacity planning to ensure installer availability aligns with the project pipeline.
- Manage relationships with installation partners and subcontractors, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Monitor project progress to address risks or issues impacting scope, schedule, or budget.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations.
Revenue Forecasting & Financial Management
- Drive regional turnover forecasting and provide visibility into upcoming revenue.
- Maintain oversight of regional order flow to ensure project schedules support revenue targets.
- Collaborate with finance and leadership to ensure accurate revenue reporting and forecasting.
- Prepare and approve job forecasts, including contractor compliance and project budget tracking.
- Ensure KOMPAN receives competitive pricing by partnering closely with accounting and procurement teams.
- Track monthly cash flow and ensure project profitability, accuracy, and schedule adherence.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, architects, engineers, and municipalities.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex project or installation issues.
- Support regional customer service efforts to ensure high customer satisfaction levels.
- Coordinate with Customer Care to resolve warranty matters and post-installation concerns.
Aftercare & Post‑Installation Management
- Manage the full aftercare process, including defect resolution, delivery of handover documentation, and communication of future maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all installations meet or exceed customer expectations from kickoff through project closeout.
Operational Risk Management
- Identify risks to project schedules and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Manage and reduce operational issues such as Zero Value Orders (ZVOs) and other factors impacting project performance.
This position is 70 - 80% travel around the region.
What You’ll Need
- College degree in a related field, with 5+ years of experience (or 9+ years of experience in lieu of education)
- Previous project management experience with both small and large construction projects required
- Thorough understanding of the construction industry
- Experience with pre-construction work, including planning, design, review, value engineering, project scheduling, and conceptual estimating
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong team leadership qualities and the ability to manage high-stress situations
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
