Do you have experience in design of control software for electronic systems? Do you want to develop advanced control methods for the welding machines of the future?
The technology in modern welding solutions has evolved from power transformers to advanced switch mode power solutions controlled by microcontroller systems.
At Migatronic we are developing all the electronic components from the high-power modules to the small signal microprocessor control boards and the embedded control software driving the system to provide complete welding solutions.
We are continuously working on new concepts and optimizations of our internal development platform to provide the next generation of advanced welding features in our products.
About the Job - Responsibilities and Tasks
We are looking for an experienced control system engineer to join our team for design, implementation and test of the complex systems controlling the welding process.
In this job, you will be working closely together with Power, Hardware and SW engineering to define the requirements and set the framework for the control system. A deep understanding of the complete system is key to get the overview needed to develop the control software for optimal system performance and weld experience for the user of the products.
You will be a key player in our agile product development process with ambitious standards for the quality of the products.
Your primary tasks include:
- Specification and development of welding control processes based on system level feature requirements.
- Design with the target to make advanced welding easy for the user.
- Implementation in SW running on embedded microprocessor systems.
- Control system simulation for verification of concepts and implementation.
- Data analysis for test of implementation, optimization and defect investigation.
- Weld test in cooperation with a team of weld experts for verification of design.
- Continuous improvement of the welding processes based on technical feedback from customers and internal welding experts.
- Support research and development of new methods for welding, including specification, proof of concept implementation and testing of welding control for future welding processes.
Your Profile
You have a strong engineering background (B.Eng./M.Sc.) in Control Systems or similar and have a passion for embedded software development.
You work in a structured and analytical manner and thrive in teams where you contribute to find the right solutions. System level understanding of electronic systems consisting of power electronics, electro mechanics and control boards including measurement circuits is a prerequisite for your control design and development work.
It is important that you have an open-minded and curious approach to new knowledge and challenges. You can take responsibility and drive tasks from concept to finished product.
Additionally, you communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
We prefer candidates with experience in:
- Design of control for complex electronic systems
- Embedded software engineering in C
- Simulation and data analysis in MATLAB
- Debugging of SW
- Understanding of HW design and analog/digital measurement circuits.
What We Offer
At Migatronic, you will get an exciting and varying job in a growth-oriented international company with proud traditions. You will be part of an innovative development environment where your ideas and expertise will make a significant impact. Here you will also be able to follow the products from the idea is fostered until the manufacturing in the production facilities located right next to the development department.
We offer:
- Possibility to participate in international conferences with focus on welding and the physics in welding
- The opportunity to shape the development of future welding technology
- An informal and creative workplace with short decision-making processes
- Professional sparring with skilled and motivated colleagues
- Excellent opportunities for professional development
- Flexible work conditions
