KOMPAN U.S. is looking for a Bid Specialist to create and submit proposals based on formal RFPs (request for proposals) from outside organizations for playground and outdoor fitness sites.


 

This position will work closely with our Direct Sales Reps and back office departments to gather information and put together bid packages. Additionally, the Bid Specialist will work closely with our Bid Analyst to determine which new bids and RFPs to bid for.


 

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, experience in coordinating with various departments to ensure timely and accurate submission of bids, and strong attention to detail.

What You’ll Do

· Establish lasting relationships and collaboration with our dedicated sales professionals

· Qualify incoming RFPs (bids and framework bids) in collaboration with sales professionals

· Coordinate meetings for the project group of the specific bid (several bids run parallel)

· Determine the right bid strategy together with our sales professionals, designers, estimators, and sales coordinators

· Coordinate that the salespeople, design team, estimator, and sales coordinators submit their deliverables according to plan

· Contribute to the written proposal with collaboration from the project group

· Gather all the information from the project group and secure the submission

· Fill out and submit prequalification questionnaires

· On a regular basis, it also involves updating keywords for tender notice search engines/databases, improving our bid library, collecting references from our sales professionals, and generating reports of our bid win rate, etc.

· Maintaining framework agreements by keeping price lists, renewing agreements, preparing documents for upload, keeping data current, and ensuring timely filing requirements are fulfilled

· Assist in quoting/estimating with colleagues as needed


 

What You’ll Need

· 2+ Years experience in bids / proposal coordination / request for proposals (RFPs)

· Excellent project management skills, e.g. ability to prioritize projects and workload within deadlines

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Experienced in pricing and calculating margins (Excel experience)

· Organized, structured, methodical, and accountable

· Autonomous, self-propelled, forward-thinking, anticipating, and a problem solver

· A team player with excellent interpersonal skills, e.g. a good listener, accommodating, collaborative

· Experience in the construction industry preferred
